Upper tailgate wiring loom

Well after a Censored up with the sellers with the tailgate I bought ( they drop it when taking it off the storage rack! ) I have a good and tidy tailgate in my hall waiting respray.
My question too who have changed tailgates is....my new tailgate has the wiring loom in but as always with breakers is they cut through the loom, is it better to tap in on my loom by soldering or how easy is it to feed my loom through the new tailgate, I don't want to take the rear screen out as that's mint and cant rebond it to the frame ( more cost!)

( I will have the top spoiler in black, with brake light for sale soon but want to check it works first) If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Just unplug everything, feed the wires out and then refit the new one... Feed your existing loom back through and re-plug it all back in Thumbs Up

Its really quite straight forward Thumbs Up

Thanks Craig Thumbs Up

I had done a search on here but the post was 2012 and no closure of the thread as to what was done.

Its most strange my tailgate has gone in the frame on the off side and the seem while this second hand one is only ( and I mean just only started to bubble in the seem only ) and they are both 03 tailgates!

( best bit is Mrs Dragon is not bothered about it been in the house................what she don't know is she will be helping to fit it when the respray is done. Laughing ) If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

I had mine changed and painted by a Bodyshop.

The only issue I have is that I can hear the wires inside rattling about when I shut it, so make sure the loom is fastened up good or got those sponge strips round it in places.....

The one I bought had privacy glass but my car didn't. I paid for the glass to be swapped over at the Bodyshop. Sold the privacy glass after......

New RR lettering was about £55........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

when you pull the loom out is it possible to pull a cord through attached to the old loom to make pulling the new one back through easier? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Two more tips WD... Before refitting, fill it with wax oil Thumbs Up Secondly, when you remove the strip above the numberplate (as your wanting to spray and reuse yours) be careful as there is a manufacturing dimple in the centre so they tend to SNAP in the middle whilst removing them sir Thumbs Up
