Access mode button problem

Hi all,

I was having a read of the instructions of the car recently, and found that access mode can be activated by the button near the mirror controls, It doesn't seem to be working for some reason.. Ive tried to see if its anything that can be done with the IID tool but can't seem to find the option,

Anyone know what could cause the button not to work?

Many thanks

James.

that switch only works at a certain slow speed...if it doesnt work at all then i suspect the switch is faulty or the connector has come loose or possibly the wiring is broken..

also can you fill in your car profile so we know what model etc you have.. ... - .- -.

Im pretty sure that if you press the button, the lower height indicator will flash until you get to the speed where it can drop it to that level. I use it all the time coming into my drive coz I'm a short arse and need it low to get out Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Many thanks, I'll have a check tomorrow when coming to a stop.

I'm the same.. As it doesn't have side steps, I seem to be using it every time I get out/get back in...

I've seen a couple that the button is stuck because the switch surround hasn't been fitted properly, the button should move a small amount when you press it, if it doesn't move at all then it's probably the above... Pete

Hi Pete, Just been out to have a look now, the button seems to move nicely when pressed, when pressed it seems like its not connected to anything.

Ah, I may just adjust it that way for now Smile

Im off to cam-tech soon fir a gearbox service, I'll see if he can have quick check while its there Smile

James

Just to check James that you are not being a dumb as I was...the doors need to be closed for it to work.

I know...bring on the ridicule!

Doors all seem to be closed,

To be honest, when I first arrived home with the car and was having play, I couldn't see why the suspension wasn't rising and lowering, realising after a bit that the doors had to be closed!

Have you had the drivers door card off recently
I seem to recall a post that its possible to transpose the wiring to a couple of the connectors on the switchpack , one of them being the access height control connector Rolling Eyes

I'm not really sure what the point of that button is?

It doesn't do anything you cant do on the main suspension switch. It would make sense if it was like some Citroens have a switch in the boot to let you raise and lower the back for loading, but as you have to reach in to start the engine anyway and then close the door you may as well use the dash control.

Given it's location though, it's also possible it's got wet inside.
