Filling up!

I tried to fill her up diesel a couple of days ago for first time and struggled because the pump kept cutting out, like it would when it was full. Is there a good angle to get it in, am I ham fisted or, a mixture of the 2?

No Lewd comments please, I already have children!

sounds like the fuel guard has been activated...there should be a plastic yellow thing in the boot that can reset it...should be info in the owners manual re this.. ... - .- -.

Look down the filler nozzle and see if the fuel guard has been activated... It does not need to be fully activated to inhibit the flow when your refilling! And can be activated by a large pot hole Rolling Eyes

Hope that helps further to Stans post sir Thumbs Up

Make sure the tank isn't actually full already!!

Like mine was, hadn't owned it long & spent hours waiting for RAC one eve as thought I couldn't get fuel in & discovered it was brimmed with fuel.

Mine had a faulty sender & only read 1/2 full or lower Whistle 2011 (MY12) 4.4 TDV8 Vogue

Good shout but I put £50 in at a time generally and the clicking from the pump is immediate.

Upside down works a treat but pretty daft problem to have. Many thanks

Both my td6 & tdv8 are the same , always Sainsbury for fill up , but had the same at different forecourts. Just think it's a very poor design, just wait until the reset tool snaps in the filler neck , that was a happy day! I keep a long screw driver in the boot for that purpose now!

It would be interesting to know just how many people suffer in silence with this fuel filling problem. This is my third RR in the last 10 years and all have had the same problem. Never have this problem with the defender Very Happy
