Do MY08 SC rims fit MY11/12 SC/TDV8?

I'm after a 2nd spare and can get one from a 2008 SC. I can get someone to collect it but need to know that its going to fit before buying. Can anyone confirm that it will or wont fit?
Thanks.

I have 2010 supercharged wheels on my 2007 supercharged .
But I'm not sure if the lug nuts are different as the car came to me with aftermarket 22s on , and the 2010 wheels came with genuine nuts

Thanks. However the brakes on MY11/12 are 6-pot not 4-pot and the callipers are larger than the 4-pot.

I can look at my spare tommorow as that is the original 07 supercharged wheel and compare the inner diameter to my 10 wheels .
But as they're both 20s I can see you having a problem .
Even 19" wheels will fit on your car , albeit only a certain kind ...

The spokes have to clear the outer side of the calliper so measuring the rim's inner diameter is only half the question. To be sure someone would have to have fitted the particular style (RRC502690 - 9-spoke) to a MY11/12. LR didn't offer them for MY10-12 but that doesn't guarantee they don't fit.

Ok I'll look at the spokes later .
How much gap have you got between spokes and caliper ?
the width and et are the same , though I guess you already know that .

Its of no use comparing the gap between my rims and calipers with your rims and calipers as your calipers are different.

The person at the tyre shop selling the 08 rims is convinced that the rims will fit because they are the correct 20" x 8.5" with 58 mm offset. Unfortunately there are additional criteria that need to be considered.

You have assumed what I was going to do .

I am trying to help you .
I have quite a bit of experience in measuring wheels to see if they'll fit .
I have an 07 wheel and a 10 wheel , and a tape measure .

Your call ......

Sorry, I had confined my considerations to MY11/12 because the MY10 still had the 3.6 TDV8. However the parts catalogue shows the various rims for MY10-MY12 so except for the older style 19" which was available in the 10/12 range that is noted not to fit the 4.4 TDV8 and SC in those years, all the other 10/12 rims shown will fit over the 4.4 & SC brakes. Therefore any 20" 2010 SC rim that you have will indeed fit over mine's brakes and therefore considering any differences in spoke clearance is valid.

My caliper's outside face is approximately 62 mm (2.5") out from the face of the disc.

The caliper's inner edge is approximately 120 mm (4.75") from the centre of the axle/hub cap and the gap between the caliper inner outside corner is 7-8 mm (5/16") from the spoke.

Thanks for your offer to help.

I was just having a quick look by flashlight when the sprinklers came on !! Smile

I'll try again tomorrow but it seems the 4-pot and 6-pot calipers have more-or-less the same thickness (to be expected with my experience of brembos) .
I have about 10mm extra clearance between the inner spokes and caliper face than you do .
I'll install an 07 rim tommorow to check the difference .

Preliminary rough measurements show the distance from wheel mounting face to inner spokes to be the same , but if there are any drastic differences in measurements after the install tommorow I'll make an "inner" spoke profile to compare the differences ....

If nothing else , you could use it as a rear spare , and go through the old porsche BS that I live with .
Space saver is terrible on the rear , so if you have a rear puncture you have to
Remove front wheel and put on spacesaver , remove punctured rear wheel and install the front wheel in its place . realize there is not enough room anywhere to put a rear wheel whilst you go on your merry way Laughing

Thanks Ian for your efforts.

Having one for the rear only would get me out of trouble - I hadn't thought of that even though the arrangement had been discussed with regards to the use of a LR 18" rim as a spare when using Compomotive rims on a 3.0 D4. It would be the only spare for everyday use but puncturing an LT tyre with on-road use is quite unlikely and as a 2nd spare for remote area touring it would be for last resort use anyway.

I think its safe to acquire one of these if I can organise someone to collect it for me but will wait until morning to buy it just in case you have bad news.

It's going to be at least 10 hours before I get off work and get a wheel off .
If you can wait that long ?

Looking at them last night , the inner spoke measurements dong look that much different , but I cannot say for sure the earlier wheel will clear your calipers without measuring ...

It's a pity you're not nearer , you could try for size

I'll take my chances and arrange to get the rim. Worst case is I'll have to return it but providing it fits the rear it will suffice. Don't bother changing wheels as I will have bought one by then.

Thanks for your help. I'll let you know the outcome in about 10 days.

Edit: I found a picture of the rim on an 08 SC at an angle that shows the curvature of the spokes away from the caliper which looks very similar to my 6-spoke's curvature and clearance.

I can confirm that these rims indeed fit over the 6-pot Brembos with what appears to be at least the same clearance as the original rims on this vehicle.
