remote FBH fob operation?

Can anyone clarify the operating parameters of the FBH remote on my 2011 tdv8

Have only had the car a few months (i.e warm weather) and have recently programmed the fbh key fob. When the on button is pressed the light flashes green on the fob and an orange light flashes on the centre knob of the climate control

from inside the car it appears to open the centre dash air vents and allow a very weak airflow into the car

The coldest i have seen since getting the car was about 11degres (ext temp) but at this temp the fbh doesn't appear to fire it only "vents" the interior

So my question is-

1- is this correct operation? or can i increase the blow from the vents when on somehow (mainly to keep the dog cool)
2- at what temperature does the car decide that it needs to heat rather than cool the car and fire the FBH into life?

thanks in advance

Paul Thumbs Up Paul

If I remember right it will try to maintain 16°C internal ambient temp so will activate the burner if required.

It will only blow on fan speed 1 and through the centre vents unless the external temp is around freezing point then it switches to blowing on the screen. Current

Cheers Andy, so i am guessing it will need to be considerably colder than 16 before the fbh fires ? Thumbs Up Paul

The FBH itself fires at 5 degrees I recall. Above that it will vent the car rather than heat it.

Any progress on this?

My FBH works when programmed from the dash and generally on cold mornings but the remote fob only flashes a red LED when I press the on button which according to the book of lies means it didn't connect with the car, despite me standing right in front of it!

Shouldn't be a fob battery issue as then the LED should flash orange I believe?

Is there a setting in the car that I need to adjust so it recognises the remote or am I off for a warranty claim?

Thanks! Bish.

Have you tried re syncing the remote?

Disconnect power from receiver, reconnect and press off on the remote within a few seconds. Current

Temperatures...

In the 2011MY, FBH fires at 15 degrees or below. Not 5 as posted above.

The receiver is located behind the rear offside (RHS) access panel in the boot. It has two plug-in connections and you need to remove the one with three wires coming from it. The plug just pulls out but it can be quite a tight fit. Leave it out for about 30 seconds then plug it back in and press the off button on your remote within five seconds of replacing the plug. I'm not sure if this is the official method but it worked first time for me Very Happy 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

TomCobbly is right.

Did this with mine yesterday, and it paired straight away.

The Webasto unit is a small, thin rectangular metal unit measuring about 4" x 3". It has 2 connectors plugged into it, and is situated at the rearmost of the boot (driver's side, above the fuse box). It should have the Webasto logo on it (a W made to look like a steering wheel - if unsure, google it).
