50 euros a litre for oil?!

Having been ripped off by my local stealer for automatic transmission fluid, I'm wondering if anyone has a definitive list of the oil specs for the L322?

Mine is a 4.4 petrol.

I know oil is important, I know it's not all the same, but I'd prefer to buy it from an oil company!

I buy it at around $90/L from an independent supplier.

Note that the table incorrectly identifies Dexron III as a suitable alternative to LT71141. I’ve seen, on several occasions, what happens when you put Dexron in a 5HP24.

The only ZF approved fluids for the 5HP24 transmission are (part-synthetic) Mobil ATF LT71141 and (fully-synthetic) ZF Lifeguard Fluid 5 & Pentosin ATF 1. Here in the UK only the Mobil fluid is easily available at anything like an acceptable price. Elsewhere in the world the other two fluids may be easier to get hold of.

You might want to read this thread. One of these other brands will work fine and may be cheaper. I can get pentosin or Febi for about $10/litre delivered.

I'm carrying some febi bilstein as a reserve, but I don't think it's compatible.

It will say on the back if it is LT 71411 equivalent. I've been running the Febi equivalent. I will be changing to the Pentosin shortly because it is fully synthetic and costs the same here.

Phil,

I seem to remember I found ZF Lifeguard on Island4x4 for about £12/l. Might be remembering incorrectly but it was for my 6hp26 and people commented it was a damn sight cheaper than anywhere else. Ed
