Guy was telling me about when it was released at the old motor show at Earl's Court they would take a chunk off a cylinder block and fill it and that it's so amazing 😂

I've been using the stuff since I had my first Land Rover... an S2A... in the 80's, used it to repair a couple of splits in the header / top tank on the rad... just follow the instructions and you wont go wrong.. it's fantastic stuff Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

So I've done it, need to rub the outside down a bit before I fit the hose!







I also rubbed the hole down as it had a very sharp edge on the outside! If it dries and cures like that I'll be laughing!

That outer bit shouldn't take long to knock into shape.. the inner, don't bother, it will add to the strength Smile Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Seems like you two have more confidence in me than myself!! Razz

Will be 24 hours at 7pm tonight, but think I'm going to wait until tomorrow to sand down and fit new pipe else I'll be doing it in the dark and don't want to mess it up!

On another note, I did some measuring last night of the stub and the new pipe, and it seems as though the seal would be either the wrong side of the hole, or right on it... hopefully explaining my leak! I'm not worried if I feel no performance difference as I don't expect to, but if it gets rid of the small amount of smoke on hard acceleration I'll be a happy guy Thumbs Up

I had a check just now, doesn't seem to be fully try, feels like hard putty still Sad

Have to see again tomorrow, it's just started raining anyway!

All done, it was fully cured and I rubbed in down to be smooth and in line with the rest of the stub.

First impressions are good - took it for a drive, on the first boot I had black smoke again, but after that first time it was clear... probably clearing itself out!

Mpg has gone up slightly to 17, although it's not accurate as I kept booting it on kick down, so hopefully it's better...

After the test drive no sign of oil from the connection to intercooler, I'll keep an eye on it for a few weeks but fingers crossed!!!

I forgot to ask, did you replace the hose from underneath? I need to change mine for the silicone ones on that side too.
