United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green

Thank you for such a thorough fault summary, I should be able to tell pretty quickly if the fault is still there. I did use a FFRR at Eastnor in April and the screen on that hung once.
I saw a list of Job 1 build dates for new LR models earlier in the week and the MY16 version was slated for a day in November, so I'll have missed it by about 2 months.

Check back through the thread for the details, but it looks like it's in danger of suffocating to me Shocked

Suffocating, its dead been in there for a while.
Last time on the road back in 2015 after a 14 year stint of doing nothing.
I used to show the car at RSOC events but stopped in 2000.
no problem about the fault list, i just hope they have sorted the stalling issue and you don't have any with your new one.
Ask your dealer about the SIM Card and see if they have put one in for you before you pick it up.

Similar story with other top end JLR products, We bought a new Jaguar XJ Autobiography in December, what a disgrace

Guess what-the infotainment is a proper load of poo

The car has been in 6 times for the next fix, then the next one, then it was in the dealers workshop for 2 weeks and then returned to us- not working"".............

They even had some geezer from Germany interrogating the car via the internet to fix it- errrr no he didn't (he did it remotely from Germany--- he wasn't just a German who was at the dealership)

Well pizzed off, it's now in the rejection process and they returned it to us and it worked for 2 hours then reverted to not working

What to buy to take its place? Ideas??

Reecy

Reccy,
feel your pain.
Spoke to Land Rover and the new MY18 is supposed to have a updated infotainment system in it
i have tried an hybrid panamara last weekend, they let me have it overnight something LR won't do.
Fantastic car, lovely setup in the cockpit only problem and it is a big one i couldn't get comfortable so its a no from me for one of them.
The Cayenne has just been updated to the same cockpit as panamara and it looks lovely, the problem is cant get one until spring next year and they haven't even released a diesel version yet.

I have bitten the bullet and a new Range Rover yesterday, it looks like it is the MY18 and possible delivery of January next year (to be confirmed i might add).

Personally, I'd rather have a broken XJ, than a working S-Class or 7 Series! Rolling Eyes

Looks like I've been lucky with my dealer then (so far!)

Sat Nav not working, they tried a software update which hasn't worked. Next step is a complete new infotainment unit, under warranty, to be fitted when the part comes through.

Hopefully that one will work.

Re the 2018 model, I'm always a bit wary of new stuff coming out of JLR who seem to like to beta test their stuff on the public. Maybe it's just me !

@redmerle - interesting comment re the S class. Have to say it's one of my favourite cars and enjoyed my time with mine, bought new in 2008 so last shape. But it is the only car I've ever owned which has left me completely stranded when the air suspension failed and car wouldn't move from access height...even with this I still loved it! (Swapped for a new Defender as my needs had changed somewhat - now that was a very different ride experience!) .

The build date, it turns out, could be any day during the coming week Very Happy As we're at the factory on Monday, our dealer (who have been superb) have given us the build number to give to the staff on the tour, just on the chance that it may be being built while we're there Mr. Green

I'll need to ask very nicely because we're usually banned from taking any pictures on factory tours Big Cry
