MOT place tried to fail my car on left/right brake bias – When I asked them how they knew this because I didn’t see a 4 wheel rolling road they said they tested it on a 2 wheel road. I explained that being perm 4wd this can damage the transmission and any damage caused I would be expecting them to pay for.

Presumably in Neutral it should be OK on the rollers?

Dan: So is the damage done straight away? If so have you noticed anything or did they not even put it on the rollers? |

I think Scarey meant a road test using a hand held de-accelerometer.... |

So glad that the guy that does our MOTs knows his stuff! He used to MOT my 911 Carrera 4. I had similar problems with that car and MOT garages until my friend recommended his mechanic. Reformed |

RE: the Limited slip differential, that would explain why my old Accord Type R didn't get put on the rollers for the front brake test. I always wondered why, I thought he was cutting corners |
