@Joe90
If you are stuck for a solution to your battery drain problem you could fit a relay in the cable from fuse 49 and switch it from the ignition circuit. Not a total solution but a definite work round that will stop your battery drain easily and cheaply when the ignition is off.
I presume your battery drain shows up on fuse 49. Thumbs Up

Definitely on Fuse 49, amperage dropped to 0.05 amps when pulled and car asleep.

Audio System

Will have to see if I can isolate further.... .

Does you car have a Connect 2 box about the size of a packet of cigarettes in the wiring harness running below the TV module. It's part of the original car phone system. If so you could try removing it. Undo the two plugs connected to it and plug the plugs together. They are m/f and blue if my memory serves me correctly.
I initially had a current drain similar to yours on fuse 49 circuit, disconnected the Connect 2 and never had a battery drain since, 7 years. When I try and measure for one I consistently get zero.
When I opened the Connect 2 box I found water had got in it and one of the miniature relays in it had corroded in the closed position.
Threw the box away, technology has moved on.
Definitely worth a look, you might be lucky. Thumbs Up

A good shout, but I have already removed it sometime ago and plugged the two connectors together Thumbs Up

Will it just be a case of removing the connectors from each item as above and seeing what happens? I have looked at the wiring diagrams and they all seem to be "daisy chained" on a red/green wire?

and from the wiring diagrams is the ECU-Navigation (D182) in the black satnav box in the rear cubby? .

More testing:

Unplugged the SatNav unit (original unit), blue and purple plugs and aerial, and locked the car, once asleep amperage down to 0.035amps. So believe I am onto something.

Pretty certain the little red light on the satnav is going out when car is locked but will now check this. .

Try unplugging the aerial to the sat nav only. Leave the Satnav connected. Thumbs Up

Decided to dismantle the satnav unit, which was/is working, to see if anything obvious inside.....
This was the underside of the PCB at the bottom front of the unit

Hmmm - what do you think Confused

Grabbed my can of DP-60 and a toothbrush and gave this and a couple of other areas a good scrub down. The rest of the internals of the unit were in good order, clean and shiny, no sign of blown capacitors or tracing/tracking.

Reassembled, no bits left over!, and back into the car, connected up and locked.

WOOHOO !! 0.025amps

Hopefully, job done. Thanks to all for their ideas, advice and pointers Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Bow down

FWIW, once you get the unit carrier off (may need gentle tapping with a small hammer) the top and bottom covers should just lift off with a little bit of prying, then you can unscrew the pcb and the player unit, unclip a few things and it all comes apart. .

I wonder how many Satnav units have been scrapped when all they needed was their teeth cleaned.
Really good result. Thumbs Up

I guess it is just corrosion from some previous water ingress, am guessing that this was causing a short of some kind, or quite simply, as often is the case Exclamation , the very act of dismantling and putting back together resolved the issue Very Happy .

I’ve just had fuse 49 diagnosed for my battery drain issue. Still to confirm what component is the cause. Fuse 49 removed at the moment. Wish I’d seen this thread earlier! Evil or Very Mad
