Buying advice: Range Rover L322 TDV8

I'm going to replace my Discovery Td5 soon as i've had it for a very long time now and it really needs a new gearbox (170K miles).

My budget is about £15K although I do understand that the real cost of an L322 is actually running it.

I'm leaning toward a 3.6 as I've test driven a few and the smaller engine seems to be nicer to drive, feels more torque-y low down when you take off.

I thought i'd ask here for the good, the bad and the ugly?

Are there any good modifications, I have read about a twin compressor modification for the air suspension for instance?

In full disclosure I don't have a kids but I am going to start building my own house (well not me exactly, a main contractor Wink ) early next year which is out in the sticks with a 1/2 mile long greenlane to the door, this turns my 10 mile daily commute into a 70 mile one, so I want something comfortable that I can use year round.

For the reasons above I want to fit smaller wheels with bigger tyres, whats the smallest that'll fit over the brakes? This seems to be the best i've found so far: https://www.mudtech4x4.com/en/18-wheels-discovery-4/ - i've contacted them to see if they'll fit.

Is there anything else I should be looking at?
(Although I like the look of the Disco 3&4, the engine failures have switched me off those and for all my sins I am also looking at a 2.4 Puma 110s)
