Booking. Com

I’m finding booking .com are taking over the world and finding possibly better hotels is really difficult as all the googling of town and hotel brings up booking .com trivago and similar , I never seem to be able to find a list of hotels actually where I want to get to.

Sometimes a town may have a poorly run tourist board but frequently not

For example we have a fabulous hotel in the Loire , but they don’t use booking . com so never come up in web searches. We only found it in the days prior to the interwebby thing, just a map and turned up!

How do you guys locate half decent hotel accommodation? The U.K. is probably the most difficult. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I find exactly the same thing. They never list the well known hotels & regardless on the amount of information you put in, it seems that they just list the smaller establishments only.

Using Google maps and selecting a location I have found it possible to search for hotels with their websites avoiding the booking companies. John

i have just used booking dot com for 4 locations for my week away in france..

their reviews are handy and pics help....and being a genius level 3 gets me some benefits..

all the hotel booking info is on my phone app as well..

i always do a google street view of the location to visualise where the parking garage is and its height limits.. ... - .- -.

I have used Booking app driving and overnighting through Holland, Germany, Poland and Lithuania.
Found some fantastic places and has a great filter as I needed dog friendly places next to forest etc.
I intend to keep using it Thumbs Up 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

I use hotels.com, via Quidco for a bit of cash back, and they have a deal where when you've accumulated ten nights you get one free.

The prices seem about the same as any other site. No VAT receipt though. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Baltic Blue

Up until a few years ago I travelled a lot in the UK.

I used the "Green Book" & kept the contact details of places I would use again & added my own categories ;
1* OK for just one night if pushed.
2* OK for one night.
3* Good for one or more nights.
4* Excellent.
5* Excellent & good enough to take my wife &/or girlfriend.

Not too sure if it still exists in any form now.
