DPF/EGR/MAF Errors all at once

Hi,

In need of help, 2012 4.4TDV8 Westminster, gone into Restricted Performance twice in 2 days, 1st time it cleared itself but today was more serious and hasn't cleared.

Unfortunately I'm on holiday in the Lakes and I need to get home to Sussex, all local dealerships, garages I've tried will have a look in October, I have a Carly and it shows me the errors attached, any ideas where I should look first?

Any help gratefully received.

No attachments - can you write down the codes as it's probably due to being a first time poster. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

P040D is an EGT sensor on passenger side manifold (exhaust) - very common. Might be related.

P010C looks like a MAF error. Try cleaning it (do both) with a cleaner appropriate for a MAF. Not sure. Brake fluid cleaner maybe??? Located in line with air boxes.

P2456-00
From Workshop manual

Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure Sensor A Circuit Intermittent/Erratic - No sub type information

Check diesel particulate filter pressure sensor hoses for crushed, blocked, split
Check and replace diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor as required. Refer to
the warranty policy and procedures manual, or determine if any prior approval programme is in
operation, prior to the installation of a new module/component.

After cleaning both MAFs and no result then I'd call out the AA/RAC with a view to getting recovered to your local specialist. Who do you use in W.Sussex? A few about. Maybe clean the MAP too whilst in there. It's the one in the top of the intake "doughnut" on top of the engine.
Get the AA/RAC to clean both MAFs (in air boxes) and the MAP.

Thanks for the information, I have just been out and got some tools and some brake cleaner, the MAF was utterly filthy, black with oily soot, I have thoroughly cleaned it, however does this point to other issues, surely it shouldn't get utterly caked? Should I try a test drive? Would the MAF issue cause DPF sensor issues?

Thank you very much for the information so far!!

EDIT: I may be getting confused, the MAP was utterly caked, the MAFs were clean as a whistle. I have cleaned the ones below.

MAP gets clogged and needs cleaning every few 1000 miles as a service routine as it's catching EGR recirculation. MAF's should be clean. I think you are looking at peripheral issues and need to check the DPF differential pressure sensor - wiring and pipes. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Understood, makes sense, I will clean the MAP regularly from now on (probably replace it too, it was utterly encrusted), I'm going to run it to the local garage as it needs fuel, I'll run diagnostics on it again on my return and see what faults remain, I'll then organise recovery for tomorrow if no better.

DrRob and JayGee, thank you so much for your help.

When I ran diagnostics this AM it allowed me to delete them, but this afternoon when it came up with different errors it won't allow me, I guess because it deems them serious... Unfortunately as with everything in life including OBD scanners you get what you pay for, but to be fair it was only £45...

Any DPF yellow or red warnings on dashboard?
You really need a GAP IID Bluetooth when running these motors Whistle Very Happy
You can monitor all sorts with it with regards to the DPF etc

Happy to assist in future with technical support etc when you’re back down south. I’m in Petersfield.

No errors on the dash and it drives normally now. I will invest in the GAP IID tool in time, watched Sam's Motor and Machine review of OBD tools on YouTube and the benefits are clear, excuse the pun! Very Happy

Most of us have them in the top glove box. They fit a treat in there 😂😂
Well worth the investment as they do a lot more than a normal plug in tool: customer support is amazing, loads of fellow users for advice and they hold their value extremely well to sell on if needs be. Winner Bow down

Gap IID tool in your L322 - more important than a spare tyre, jack, booster pack or AA/RAC membership. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
