Thanks! So I was being fobbed off about it not needing a service during those 3 years?

I did car vertical and all looks good but I saw that it's been for sale for a while which concerned me and this service history thing is a deal breaker for me if it has not got full service history.

Many thanks again!

Difficult one that…. Could it have been serviced somewhere and not been entered on the LR system? Covid and lockdown times too, but then it does appear to have done nearly 20k as already mentioned.

Maybe dealer can put you in contact with previous owner? I give all my receipts with my details on when I sell a car, but these days with GDP regulations now, I hear garages can’t pass paperwork on and it just gets binned…. Might be wrong…

Looks very nice though, I’m not normally a fan of too much black, but works very well with the grey.

Thank you. Well I asked about the service gap and they said it didn’t need a service in that time because not enough miles had been clocked up. I’m getting the impression that this is baloney. Can anyone confirm that please? If so, I’ll look elsewhere

it’s mileage OR annually, whichever comes first.

The L405 service sheets are in the Wiki mate. Top right, under the fullfatrr banner… this seems to be for TDV8 but the 3.0 can’t be that different.

A full service history is a car which has been serviced every year regardless of the miles the car has done.LR states 16000 miles or yearly I believe.
Even if it had proof of oil and filter changes would be good. Most of us on here do six-month oil and filter changes. overfinch modified

Thanks both regarding the annual service or every 16,000 miles (whichever comes first). The car has got 3 missing service years (2020, 2021 and 2022) but the car also only covered 18,000 miles within that time frame. As such, it was only a little over the mileage limit which I think doesn't cause me too much concern?

How much importance would you guys place on this please and also the fact it obviously didn't have an oil change over that time period?

Thanks again in advance

This warning light was on throughout the duration of my test drive today - I can't find what it means online. Can anyone help with this please? Thank you

That’s to show that forward alert is active. If you approach an object and your rate of approach is fast compared to their speed, the car will bleep at you and prime the brakes….. you can turn it off in the menus but I like mine on for the odd chance it might save me….

@Align89:

Search “roof drains” on here, and read it all.

Very important to check, this can write off an otherwise impeccable car. Shocked “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

United States 2006 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Buckingham Blue

Take what I say with a grain of salt...
But if this thing sat for a couple of years - especially during the Wuhan Herpes - it may not be that big of a deal...

I hear y'all were locked down more vociferously and longer than we were in the Southern US.

When I bought my L405, I asked the dealer to run the CarFax (Car Vertical) for 2006 Col Reb. It is 17 pages long and I noticed that there are several 'intervals' missing that I know I did. Mr. Clean Carwash who has 3 oil service bays, apparently does not register with CarFax... I usually have to bring my own filter, but you get a free wash...

The L405 had what I would consider a 'full service history'. Oil was not changed on the button, but in the vicinity. 90% were at JLR dealers, with a few at a place that also seems to serve as a coffee shop, hair salon and possibly a taxidermist in Highlands NC. Based on the Sirius/XM settings, the memory seat and tailgate height, L405 "Donna" was owned by a little ol lady (named Donna - the DMV let that slip). I imagine she was more frightened by COVID than I, and it may have missed an interval or went to a place that does not register - the gaps were in 2020/2021 as well.

These days the recommended oil changes are WAAAYYY outside my comfort zone. When the mfg rec was 3,000 miles - I did 5,000 miles. Now that it is something insane like 15,000 miles... I am still at 5,000. Knock wood, my drivetrains have outlasted the other parts of the car since the early 90's when I graduated from college. 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'
