Get the 5050 as you can snip a simple wire to make it 4w output instead of the std 0.5w Thumbs Up

0.5w gives you a reasonable range with clear line of sight. About 5km if properly clear line of sight. But when you get into the car, it acts a bit like a faraday cage, so distance is greatly reduced.

But, if you increase the power, it gives you a much greater range..
Although tbh for Salisbury, most pmr will be fine as the area is quite open and the group is close togethr.

Right guys, I'm sorting the groups for next weekend. I am assuming that the following people are going:

Nomad

I'll be splitting you up so that you are with D3 owners who have the appropriate maps etc. I'll also be drawing up some notes etc. and I'll be posting these on here later.

Thanks for update Dom & Stu

I'll be there with Pirelli Scorpions on 20" wheels and have deployable side steps.

From what I understand most of it is tracks and although there are some tricky bits - i.e. deep water and or mud, there are alternative ways around. I doubt we'll be coming across rock crawl or narrow damaging gulleys etc.. Anyway I hope not! Shocked

See you on Saturday assuming our paths cross - I'm off at 9.30 on yellow so you'll probably come across me later stuck in a bog somewhere! Crying or Very sad 2012 5.0L S/C
