I think you should not pay them one penny. If you have to, to get your car going, make sure you make a point of paying under protest and pay by credit card. Call your credit card company and ask them to reverse the transaction.

If your car was remapped anyway, and all they've done is put it out of action for a week, why the hell should you pay? Question Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Pete (bell-auto-services) if you are still watching this one - Does that sound plausible what they have told me..?

Essentially my car will have been off the road for a week by the time it gets sorted (assuming their fix works) Ash

I would agree with above at the very least they might get to keep their perceived reputation in tact. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

OK - Further update....

John came back yesterday pm having received the remapped ecu back from Veizu. Plugged it in and hey presto... She fired up like a beast. Left it running for 15 mins to "bed in" the new settings (not sure this was totally necessary - but what do I know)..

Took her out for a short test run and i have to say I was impressed. It seemed to have a bit more urgency about it and a very sooth continuous pull on acceleration.

It's just a shame I could not do a before and after comparison with a short gap in between. TBH it's been a week since I last drove it so can't remember what it was like before.

All in all though - worth the wait and thanks to the guys at Veizu for sorting it.... Thumbs Up

On a sad note - I (we both really) decided my wife didn't need to spend £200 a month on fuel in my old P38 4.6 Vogue so she's gong this morning. I've chopped her in for a Ford (sorry) Kuga. Lovely car and 2.0 TD so 40mpg instead of 18.! Fully loaded and intelligent 4x4 (yeah right.!) so she won't be house bound when we get 1/2 inch of the white stuff..

Only got £3,200 for the P38 but she is 11 years old (64K miles genuine). Funny how they are always worth more to you than to anyone else but hey ho.... I'm gonna miss her really - great car..... Big Cry Big Cry Ash

Thanks Stan - We'll see how the FullFatt goes in a few weeks.

re the Kuga - First impressions - It's a great car.

Had a run out in it today and reset the ave MPG etc... 42.8 MPG..!!! Drives very smooth with the econo-gauge telling me to change up all the time. 40mph and it wants to be in 5th. Full off toys incl, Sat Nav, Bluetooth, iPod, F/R Parking sensors and rear camera. Quite swift for a "soft roader" I think they call it. Oh and push button start - nice feature.

Overall - I like it as a second car but I wouldn't swap mine out for one just yet. Ash
