Check Coolant Level

I keep getting the message: 'Check Coolant Level' and the alert bell ringing each time I start driving. I checked under the bonnet and coolant level is normal - not low.

Any advice what could be triggering this false warning? if it is a faulty sensor, which sensor should I order? My car is in Malaysia and i have no access to a LR dealer. I can only order parts from UK to be sent here.

thanks guys. '01 1.8i Freelander. Grey/ grey

Hi,

Mine did this before I picked it up. The coolant mix wasn't right. Apparently the sensor is that sensitive, it can tell if the mix of coolant isnt concentrated enough!

Paul.

Thanks Stan. I read that article after I did a search on coolant. However in my case, I am not low on coolant at all. '01 1.8i Freelander. Grey/ grey

As mentioned by Paul r. If the specific gravity of the coolant isn't correct even if rad is full, it will show "low coolant"? Maybe the coolant needs changing. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE
