Which diagnostic for which model?

So much has been written on he subject but what I do find hard to get to grips with is which of the diagnostic tools ie; IIDTool , Hawkeye , RAC & Black Box solutions is best for which model ?
I will be looking for one for a 2008 SC very soon but I am sure people would be interested in opinions based on actual types used on specific models .
For me I like the neatness of the IIDTool or maybe the Hawkeye and I never use a windows based PC but given good advice could easily change my mind . 2008 MY Supercharged
Rimini Red / Jet
four zone climate
remote park heater
and no ugly kid windows.

I have T4 and IDS but purchased an IID for the car when im travelling... Its been used 4 times now in 8 months or so whilst away either on business or pleasure... A fault appears you pull over, plug in and reset in a few seconds... What could be simpler? No waiting for recovery etc etc... My time is valuable to me!

The other reason was because of the EAS control, no one else can lower the IDS cars i think...

Simples...
