TV in motion

i had one of these modules fitted in my TD6 and the wife liked to watch TV when we were cruising along, so i thought i'd buy one for the TDV8 as i left the other one in the TD6.

i have tried fitting it today without much luck. i have tried all the dip switch settings and to make sure that i have it plugged into the right place.. Shocked

all i get is the dash bonging at me saying i have suspension errors.. Shocked

has anyone fitted one of these and if so how did you get on. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

You do realise it is a thoughtless, stupid and illegal thing you're trying to do. Censored

Fit a screen which is visible from the rear seat so the wife can watch TV in safety, or get a split-screen update.

there, that told you stu.... Mr. Green

i also wouldn't advise it either, its a distraction and from experience its very difficult not to glance at the screen and a couple of seconds not looking at the road could be fatal.. ... - .- -.

I remember having a similar issue with mine when I first fitted it... I'll check when I get back from holiday Saturday and post if I can find the paperwork...

And just for the record mine is fitted so I can operate the RSE when I'm driving using the front screen... Handy for listening to the news sometimes too...

Craig Thumbs Up

i don't want to start a war of words, i am fully aware of the legalities of things also, i as usual just wanted some advice.

it seems i may get some from craig with a bit of luck.

at the end of the day if it messes with the car it wont get fitted. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

hi Stan, thanks for the link, i will contact some of the members on this thread and see how they got on in the end.

it may well be wrong/faulty module, glad it's easier to fit than in my last FFRR, an honest 5 min job, not an hour like last time.

supplier has been very helpful, but obviously the land is in shutdown mode for the next few days. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Arguably it is our concern when there is a vehicle on the road which has a modification which COULD cause further distraction to the driver and potentially an accident. It is illegal for a reason and it doesn't matter how good of a driver you are - everyone can get distracted.

Stu. I spend much of my working life cutting out seriously injured people from crashed cars. It is sad to notice that usually the most seriously injured people (often dead ones) are often the innocent parties in crashes. A moments distraction can be all it takes for somebody to be seriously injured or killed in a car crash.

Please don't be so selfish and thoughtless, remember you're driving a car weighing almost 3 tons. In a crash you may well be lucky and survive, but the poor innocent person driving in front may be seriously injured due to somebody who is too arrogant to realise that there are reasons for certain regulations.

Grow up and take responsibility for your actions. Maybe you like to live on the edge, but it is extremely selfish to disregard other people's safety. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE
