The mirror will only dip if the car has memory seats fitted.

I assume it was working before, as oppose to it never having worked ?

So if you have an HSE or something without memory seats the function won't be there.

Sorry if you've had your car for 5 years and know it inside out - just trying to cover all bases. Smile

Mark

Thanks Mark, it has the memory seats, and the driver's mirror moves to suit memory settings, but the passenger mirror never moves except manually. switch in either position.
Maybe potentiometer faulty...need to get some sort of diagnostic device!
Cheers,

Fraser

so if you have memory seats as i have, they are both meant to dip as only the passengers side dips on my car,i thought only one was meant to...
[this is when reversing], normally they both do dip. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

United States 2005 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Chawton White

My 2000 P38 dips both mirrors in reverse.
The 2005 only dips the passenger side, and only if the mirror select switch is in the "driver's side" position.

Backing out of my garage at night, the mirrors might as well not even be there.
There's no streetlights where I live, the driveway is black asphalt, and the bit of grass is dark.
Add in the limo-black windows, and I can't see anything in the side mirrors.
I roll out of the garage straight back, when the bumper clears the door plus 3 feet, cut the wheel hard right, and I'll end up in the street.

I was going to put rope light along the edge of the driveway where the pavement meets the grass, triggered on garage exit, but I figured the snowplow knuckleheads would just destroy it when they plow the driveway. Jim
