Brown Privacy Glass

Any ideas why the rear passenger factory fitted privacy glass appears brown in colour in strong sunlight on my 2011 SE? What makes it even more odd is that the rear 3/4 windows and tailgate are regular black. Is there an extra layer of insulation on the passenger windows that changes the tint slightly???

Yes I posted about this a couple of weeks ago. Looks awful doesn't it? There is a bulletin on Topix about 'Discoloured Privacy Glass' but I cannot read it as I don't have a subscription! I think it is because of the lamination - the tailgate glass is not laminated.

Its not only brown its almost cloudy in direct sunlight. Very odd. Still they all seem to be the same from what I can establish. If you wind the window down you can see at the top edge just how thick the laminate is. It looks almost bullet proof let alone sound and sun proof!
