Tuning box (removal)

After reading some negative views on tuning boxes, I've decided it may be a good idea to remove mine and go back to standard.
Is it a fairly straight forward job to do? Can I do any damage in the process ?

I ask as this was all ready fitted when I bought the car, so I know nothing about it Sad Any ideas where the plug that is plugged into the box should go (the other end seems to go into the harness behind the engine Confused )

At A guess it will just plug into the fuel rail pressure sensor right at the top back of the engine.

Just follow the cable/loom back from the box to the sensor and unplug the box from the sensor then the other end of the cable/ loom will be plugged into the car's engine management loom, unplug and then plug the original loom back into the pressure sensor.
The only problem is doing it by touch as you cant see the sensor.

It should all just go back together and you should get no warning messages.

Thumbs Up Mine was a blue one! Smile

i think its just a matter of unplugging it...remove the plastic top cover over the engine and you should see where the 'end' of the tuning box cable goes... ... - .- -.

To access the rear of the engine remove the heater scuttle where the pollen filter is.

@ Stan - The other end of the cable just disappears into the loom, I just didn't know where the plug went that is currently plugged into the box ( Does that make sense )

@ Gazellio - That's my concern, but hoping it will be kinder to engine for better reliability / longevity Sad

i dont think you will...from your picture it looks like the 'other' end of the cable has been hard wired into the loom..

also, any manufactures name on the tuning box, if so give them a ring and ask...

also, one of our sponsors , AMD, does remaps etc , so maybe a call to them might help.. ... - .- -.
