There is possibly another option (sorry for raising the dead!)

Buy a new one and sell your old one onto someone who wants to refurb it Smile

IE if meer bought it back for £50 shipped to him then he could repair it and offer a fully repaired and warranted 12month unit ready to ship.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well I bought a kit from Meerbusch. Cost me £120 in the end as it was an auction and not Buy-It-Now. All new Wabco parts in sealed bags, and fitting was dead easy so can't be bad. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

How did you get on...did everything work fine? Im unsure of what the fault on my car actually is. The sus fault has been on the dash for a few months. Its never sank to the bump stops but is locked in normal height and wont budge. Does sound familiar to anyone?

Oh forgot to ask-disconnected the connector in the boot floor. Put 12v across the red and white wire to the compressor and the brown comming back off. Nothing happened-does this mean the compressor is knackered? Also with the engine running etc-im getting no power across the same wires when its all connected up. Am I correct in assumiming the red and white wire gives the compressor power?

Dear sir, take red and BROWN to plus and minus, then hear: if there is no noise, buy a new one.... of course you get it in GB much better than in D, I believe island4x4 has a very good offer: 230GBP with house-warranty Wink) read yourself..., regards from germany, meerbusch L405 SDV8 2017 + Lancia Flavia Coupe 1964 + RRS L494 3.0 SDV6 + C220CDI Convertible 2021

Thank you for a quick response Meerbusch. I tried to put + and - through the red and brown with the compressor is disconnected, but nothing has happened. The only thing that is confusing me is the fact that when the compressor is connected to the car, i have no power going to it either. is this normal? I thought that if it was getting power but wasnt running then it would definetely be the compressor?

Dear sir, than we have two possibilities: first, the electroengine inside of the kompressor is dead, definitly you must buy a NEW one, there helps no repair kit, or the little parts on the rotor of the engine are at their end, you can change them very difficult. Sorry for this question, but is the battery, with which you have tested full enough?? Test it first with a light 55W from a H7..., and if you fix the cables, + and - , become the cables warm? If have tested a compressor from Cayenne (similar type), there I could feel, that the electro engine was defect because the cables became heat warm. Give me info about your steps! Ok so I removed the compressor from the car-tested the motor with a 12v battery across it. Got nothing at all. Stripped the motor and cleaned brushes/contacts etc. put 12v across it again and it worked out of place. I then put the compressor back in the car and connected it all up. But I now do not have any of the lights around the suspension switch lighting up. Has anyone experienced this before?

@ KARMANN

No messages? Sounds like you have a "hard" fault that is not fixed by cycling the ignition.

You may need diagnostics to reset the Air Suspension. When my air suspension spring a leak (airbag) and died I lost all the lights. Using the ALL Comms to read and clear the faults brought it all back to life. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

@KARMANN, gratulation, than you are a engeneer, if you could strip the electro-motor, because this work is very-very uneasy! Joe90 says correct, that you have to clear all the hard faults, if there is NO light in the car inside. We hear your answer....

Thank you gents. Yeah I was happy to see the motor kick back into life after a good clean. Thanks for the info regarding clearing the faults. I'm going to order an IID tool and see if it works. I'll keep you all posted.

Ok recieved the Gap Diagnostics tool today. Reset the EAS which had 6 faults lit up, once cleared the lights appeared back on the dash, also managed to fully lower the car using the Gap Diagnostics tool then raise it again using it. Although the EAS light is still stuck in the middle with the suspension lock light activatived and wont allow me to raise/lower the car using the switch. the only fault left in the EAS is..... 32-can bus fault. can anyone shed light on what this fault is?

Many thanks Fraser

Updating this, it appears that the previous fault mentioned 32 can bus was because i drained the battery and upon reconnecting it fully charged i didnt do a steering angle reset etc. once i done that the suspension lights all went back to normal. Although now i can fill the bags from the reservior which i have traced to be a leaking plastic pipe between the compressor and reservoir from chaffing against bodywork. Does anyone know the pipe size? Ill cut the bad section out and replace using push fit connections.

Dear Fraser,

that can happen with the contact to the metal. Buy a original one at LR, or cut out the defect part, and try it at a Mercedes Benz Dealer, asking for VITO Pipes, they could have the same thickness? I will go tommorow also to Mercedes to look for my Range Rover, so that I have always some material for pipes here in my garage. You can also look at ebay.co.uk or ebay.de for this parts.

Thanks Meerbusch. The pipe coming from the compressor is smaller, possibly 6mm. Then it increases in size just after the pressure relief valve to 8mm. Ive ordered 8mm pipe and some push fit fittings from the internet. Although I have some 8mm copper pipe which I might use instead. Im slowly becoming an expert in fault finding.
