Was the gearbox actually duff or are you just getting it changed as it needs to come out to change the torque converter anyway? 

from what i understand it produces metal swarf which gets into gearbox so bits of metal
all floating about. gearbox itself seemed ok but could have all gone tits up at any time.
they spoke to a gearbox specialist while i was there and i suppose you have to bow to
their knowledge.

should be picking rr up tomorrow, so fingers crossed all sorted.
can't wait to give the freelander back, not as bad as i first thought
but not quite the same as a proper motor.

at last got the rr back and feels nice and smooth. one more
day at work then off on hols for two weeks can't wait.
