Just to clarify re the regs if anyone was still unsure.

For schedule 3 or the lighting regs the halos do come under the aux light category and therefore can be on when either side or main beam is on or even as daytime running lights so on whenever engine is running.

The only thing to be aware of and someone with MOT tester knowledge may be able to help here is once they are fitted they normally then come under MOT regs ie need to be working when the bus goes for the annual health check  2006 MY Autobiography. With 'toys'

Is harness needed if just connecting to side lights directly. I think side lights are black red wires from reading? cheers. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

you can connect to the side lights direct no probs, the harness gives you 2 switch lines one from 12v ignition live and the other one can be connected to you courtesy light so when you unlock/lock the car they comeand dim out. never used it my self ut thats what it does. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
