I'm with you on this, but getting abusive towards him won't help as Stan will just delete the entire thread again. You have to be nice and just state facts otherwise, what is - up to now - a thread showing that his product is a waste will disappear again.

@Stan:

You've not deleted the original sales post, just all the replies. He asked for the whole topic to be deleted as he's not going to sell the wretched stuff here anymore:

I disagree. He's selling snake oil, making wild claims with absolutely no scientific basis and his product has had no proper industry testing and has no proper certification. When I called him out as a deleted - which he is - I was prepared to back up my statement with cold, hard facts. Now he's threatening me with libel. He can sod off back under his rock as far as I'm concerned.

And where is all your proof Simes?
How do you know my product is a waste?

You just lecture about a product you've never used, have no experience
with, never heard of until I posted it here, but you agree with misteralz,
that I am a liar.

You're very quick to generalise everything.
How do you know there is no difference between TSL and the other additives?
What do you base your facts on? Just because you read on the internet
that there are companies that sell additives, automatically this falls in that category too?

You say anyone can look up additives on the web and suss for themselves it's all smoke
and mirrors? Whatever engine oil you actually buy yourself Simes, has got additives in it also.
Without additives it would just be base oil. The additives are the ones that determine the price of it.

As for the API certification, TSL doesn't have it nor could it ever get it.
This is because it is an additive, not an engine oil.
Glad misteralz did his research on that, just as I've done mine.

And what happened to innocent until proven guilty?
Where do you have a single verifiable report, statement, test or official document
that TSL doesn't work?

I came accross TSL on another forum I am a memeber of back in October 2011. The conclusion of that forum was that a majority of the users felt it was not a product for them. However amongst some of the discussion on the forum the following article was refered to :-

Is That Additive Really A Negative?
Article by Fred Rau
ROAD RIDER/August 1992

The interesting part was the conclusion:-

In this environment, conclusions reached by known, knowledgeable experts in the field must be given a certain amount of weight. Conclusions reached by unknown, unidentifiable sources must be discounted almost totally. That which is left must be weighed, one side against the other, in an attempt to reach a "reasonable" conclusion.
In the case of oil additives, there is a considerable volume of evidence against their effectiveness. This evidence comes from well-known and identifiable expert sources, including independent research laboratories, state universities, major engine manufacturers, and even NASA.
Against this rather formidable barrage of scientific research, additive makers offer not much more than their own claims of effectiveness, plus questionable and totally unscientific personal testimonials. Though the purveyors of these products state they have studies from other independent laboratories supporting their claims, they refuse to identify the labs or provide copies of the research. The only test results they will share are those from their own testing departments, which must, by their very nature, be taken with a rather large grain of salt. 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

In fact, if you looked at the whole thing as a large social experiment it would show that Disco owners are unsatisfied with the smoothness and sound of their vehicles, whereas FF drivers are happy with theirs....

So are we Disco owners somehow beneath all FFRR owners in your eyes Whistle

As someone with some really serious understanding of the technology implimented in all years and models of Land Rover, feel free to checkh out my credentials, and indeed as the owner of both a Disco 3, P38 and L322 Range Rover i can tell you with absolute and utter certainty that the FFRR is truly the poorest and most needy example of them all.

Maybe in your Large social experiment example, you should consider to factor in that Disco owners are more working class, and own their vehicle far more for purporse and capability than for show, and so feel the need to look after there vehicles and engines better than prestigious FFRR owners do.

BTW my D3 2.7 TD engine is possibly the best engine i have ever owned, it starts perfectly and has sweetest sound i have ever heard. MY 4.4 Petrol FFRR however starts up and sounds like an utter bag of bolts and i really am willing to try anything that might possibly provide some degree of protection for it.

However I ain't easily sold on anything, especially outragous sounding promises, but i am well capable of seeing through any amont of hype, respectfully questioning a supplier, doing my own research and generally making my own personal assesments of the benefits any given product. 2003 4.4 HSE

Hi Hess, I have sent you a PM with the full details of the article I quoted from.

It is probably fair to point out that it was a forum member who was using TSL that statrted the discussion I refered to and they were happy with the product.

I think the debate on use of after market oil additives is similar to the LPG or Bio Diesel debate, there are those that will 'experiment' and those that will always be against you 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

To be fair to the discussion it should really be debated publicly.

Hi Hess

You would need to join the forum to access the postings and in order to joint the forum you need an applicable vehicle, the forum does not accept site sponsors or apreciate and sales activities, however below is the full article that was posted.

Andy_J,

I'm aware of the study, yet find it interesting that you mention a discussion you were privy
to about TSL.

Now, TSL was introduced by me to the U.K. only in June 2012.
It hasn't been in the U.K. before that, yet you managed to read this
on a forum presumably in the U.K. in October 2011.
That's 7 months prior to it being here.

Like I said, I would like the address of the forum please.
And perhaps I do own an applicable vehicle aside from what you presume I have.

Kind regards,

Hess

Hiya BBS Spy,

You're talking to a bloke here with a series IIA 2 1/4 diesel here. When I'm driving that, I look down on no-one. Mostly, because if I looked down my eyeballs would fall out due the to the vibration from the old rattler!

Anything that could make that engine run smoothly would be well worth buying.

I think that this has been tried before and it degenerated into a bit of a slangging match that got deleted. I would prefer not to end up in that position.

It was an international forum and the discussion was started by a chap from Denmark who was using TSL. 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
