Rear Passenger Window Stuck partially down

Well this is great!

Due to go away tomorrow for a week and the rear passenger window has stuck down by about 2".

Both the driver switch and door switch for the window refuse to get any life out of it and have tried igition on and off to resolve it but to no effect. Guessing the motor is stuff is neither switch works Sad

Has anyone else had this before??

Hopefully i can leave early today and get home and strip the door card off and see if i can manually get it up at least till i get back next week.

If its the motor is 2nd hand the best bet or brand new considering it hardly gets used much and im guessing fitting will need gynaecologist sized hands!! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

try and listen to see if the motor is working, if its whirring then the cable is broken or the window has become stuck on the runners...if you cant hear the motor then the motor is knackered or there's no power getting to it, either way the cards would have to come off.. ... - .- -.

No whirring noise there Stan Sad

Is it possible to just replace the motor with the lot in situ after the door card is removed or is it part of the set??

Guessing if i take it out then i can push/pull the cable to get the window up or would i be able to just swap the motor over from the other door to get it up?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

before you do remove the card WILL, you could dis-connect/re-connect the battery and see if that reboots the bcu...and you have tried both the rear door switch and your drivers switch? ... - .- -.

Tried both Stan Sad

Mick will give your idea a go as im gunna head back out to the car now. Stuck in chester today so got about an hours drive home and hoping to be done just after lunch as need to stop by the office as well!! Grr some things always have poop timing!!

At least looking at the powerful UK video the door card pops off easy. Getting it BACK ON may be a different story though but will just take time!! I would have removed it right now while waiting for this meeting but took my toolkit out the other day when removing about 2 tonnes of tree in the boot in various trips to the tip and put everything but that back in Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Stupid question Will but is the switch not just gubbed , i.e. change them over to see if that is the problem

Will have to check later Mick as I've tried both drivers panel and the door panel one to see if i could get a response and there was no motor movement Sad

I'm really hoping that its a loose connection or dodgy cable at the motor end. Are the motors used on other vehicles at all?? Or can they be swapped side to side just so I can get the window up while I'm away?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

If you have the total closure enabled (hold remote lock button to close windows and sun roof) try that to rule out the switch.

If not, then I can tell you that removing and refitting the rear door panel is a straight forward job. I had one off to confirm a faulty speaker.

Cheers,

Justin

Lazy Lock/Unlock works on everything else BUT that window Sad
