My dad had one of the older ones, much taller and the battery pack and antenna were built in as it would work underground without any issues Smile

He hated lugging the sod around as people were always calling him in the middle of the night for stupid things to be done Very Happy

This may be the only post saying the new maps CAN be good but here goes!!

I was using my dads C5 a fair bit over the weekend. Being a lowly LX the most luxurious feature was a noisy aircon..

Anyway i stuck the adapter in my lifeproof and stuck my senny's in me ear lugs and stuck the route in. Now previously it was just like a route on paper, not telling you as you go but now its got uptodate LIVE traffic reports and the best diversions and also plenty of turn by turn warning. The only fault i can pick with it as that you cant zoom out much or edit it to show your live speed easily and the odd diversion has you worried when you ignore the sign that turns left and you head straight on, but as you look left you see a massive stream of traffic queuing up Smile

All in an app that will hopefully get better and better over time Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Exactly, agree with KP. I don't really care how true to life the satellite pictures are, can't think of any use for them really, whereas a maps application which gets me from a to b and avoids traffic jams is really useful.

I think all the Apple haters have to pick up on something whenever a new product is launched, but if the quality of images in the satellite view of maps is all they can find in IOS6, it tells you all you need to know.

I love some of the new functions, like VIP's, Do not disturb (let's you add important people and only allows calls or texts from them), reject with text message etc.

I have no doubt that all of this stuff, and more, is available on Android, but I have no interest in android, since I like the way my apple devices work seamlessly together. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV8 Vogue SE

Reject with text is great, siri has improved a good bit, and the DND feature is great as i have it scheduled for every night and it will only allow an emergency call through so like i've told my family. call once and when it rings hang up and then call back and it will make a noise Smile (nicked from the BB's a little bit i think...) FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Guys, be careful. I've just gone over my 1Gb data allowance by 136Mb- something I've never done. Ive been charged £19.99 for that. Apparently, there's a bug in ios6 that uses data at a mad rate, even when connected to wifi. I haven't had any notifications that I've exceeded my allowance by Orange, so I'll be speaking to them in the morning.

Google ios6 excessive data usage. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Update

Well, I called Orange this morning and had an interesting conversation.

My billing date is the 10th of each month. It seems I went over my 1Gb allowance on the 13th Sept (3 days) and have been charged £1 a day since then. However- I was in Ireland from the 3rd to the 13th and my phone was switched to airplane mode with data etc also off. I used an old 3GS with an Irish Three SIM inserted for calls and Internet whilst there, so I had no need to use my 4S and it stayed in the glovebox.

Even more amazingly, Orange were trying to say was, from the 13th until now, I'd used a further 4Gb of data!

They acknowledged there was a problem with iOS 6 with mobile data being drained and said they'd refund the charges in full. Apparently, Apple are due to send a software upgrade out to rectify the problem. Until then, I will have to monitor my usage through the settings menu. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

If its in airplane mode it shouldn't matter as it wont send/recv data anyway... You sure its not a bug at oranges end as i've experienced it on business contracts where a sim sat in a box after someone has left has somehow 2months later been used without being taken from the box.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Don't know. They're refunding me, so I'm happy.

I suspect they didn't apply the data package this month. They said I went over my usage at 4.25pm on the 13th, which is the exact time the ferry docked at Holyhead and I reverted back to UK data! Makes sense that I've been charged since then, although 4Gb is a bit of a head scratcher. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

A friend of mine has a bill for £4,200 from Orange for data. She was on the old iPhone, apparently it got infected with some bug which leeched data full time. The Censored are trying to insist she's liable. Regardless of whether she's at fault, to try to charge an individual over four grand for domestic data use is sick twisted and stupid.

I'd say any key who's with Orange, change network! 2012 SDV8 Vogue SE
