i think most couriers will want them packed/crated , basically for easier transport...'parcels to go' for instance wanted me to put a tyre [no wheel] into a bag...

I use Fred Morris Transport and am a very happy customer. They are always on time and most likely they offer the best prices around.

I've sent a few wheels and received a few and plastic wrapping is always best, even a cheap roll of cling films will give them some protection. It does make moving them easier as so many are dirty even during transport that bagging and box helps lot |

Any time I've sold wheels and tyres, I tape a piece of cardboard over the front face (and the back if I have enough).
