My Grandad has one. fetched it for him earlier this year.

You ideally need a tray or something underneath it to catch bits of the ash, or you may be happy to shovel it up.

Not bad, but he thinks whilst it's OK, the metal could be a bit thin for burning worktops and high density wood etc, as it will burn a bit hot and over time, may burn through the metal..........

Though for years he'd beem using the square metal box from inside an old dishwasher on bricks to burn stuff.........

Should be fine for paper, and has a lid to stop stuff blowing round the neighbours gardens ! 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I used to have one, very useful for getting rid of any evidence. Thumbs Up
Lasted about 7 years before it fell apart due to corrosion.
Got an oil drum now.

You need to check with your local authority before using as you could be charged with smoke pollution

Just buy a chimney instead Mick, not much more money but looks nicer Smile

Don't forget to shred the first lot as well, catches more quickly and stick a bit of wood in, that way if you burn through all the paper that you load in and have been away from it the wood will still be meets and will light the next load of paper pretty quick Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I got one when I got the new house. I had so much crap it was worth its weight in gold. Can't beat playing with fire and drinking beer! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Used to have one of those but it rusted through within a couple of years - the oil drums are made of thicker metal and last much longer (just drill some holes in the bottom and the sides). The secret is to get a good fire burning at the base and then gently feed stuff in - if it smokes then you are feeding too fast!
