CD Player/Intravee Question

Evening all

I've picked the new FF up today (2004 TD6 Vogue) and top of the list is Intravee installation. I have to establish what sort of plug(s) are on the back of the CD player to hook it up but I've searched on here and YouTube and can't find any details of how to get to the back of it.

Can anyone oblige?

Many thanks

Gerry

If its an 04 you will have the wrong plug for sure... You will need to change the big one for two smaller ones either via a connector cable or cut the one off you have and re-wire the early plugs back on...

You need to drop the glovebox down to undo the torx head fixings inside holding the multiplay in... Youtube?

As a poss alternative, not sure exactly what you are looking to do, but Baris on here offers a reasonably priced upgrade to digital TV, using the analog unit in the car, that adds usb connection, mp3 and can also add ipod stuff to the radio as part of a seperate amp upgrade.....

The amp upgrade is well worth it by itself, if you want decent sound quality from the standard setup......

Back to your question ;

To remove the CD Changer..........

As mjdronfield said just follow the instructions on the rover upgrade site. Just make sure that when you put it all back together you check that the glovebox opener cable is connected properly. It's not much fun having a glovebox that won't open, as I found out. Thank god for wire coathangers! And for the 10 pin to 6 pin and 3 pin conversion, I went to a scrapyard and cut them out of the boot of a 3 series then paid £1 for the privelege. Re-pinning takes just ten minutes and then the Intravee is ready to go!

Thanks guys, some useful info there. In essence all I want to do is have an ipod hardwired in to the car and controlled through the head unit. I though about bluetooth streaming from my phone but I struggle with the battery life anyway so figured if I use my spare ipod it will always be there.

I've spent the day cleaning it while the weather has been OK, I'll get it in the garage tomorrow and have a look at the CD changer.
