2003 Range Rover HSE Td6 Epsom Green
Fuel Pump

HWMBO borrowed my ffrr today to take outlaws shopping (WHY) she couldn't go in hers i have no idea, any way
I get the dreaded phone call, " YOUR CAR WONT START" Kin typical.

So having got a lift to her, car turning over but would'nt start, called out the break down, who duly attended, all he could offer was a squirt of easy start. I had however heard about the second fuel pump being funny at times, so i suggested he give it a thump. Hay presto car fired up.

My question is how easy is a new pump to fit, is it a DIY job or a garage.

If its easy i'll have a go when i get use of my arm back hence why i didn't try hitting it. Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty,nothing else matters.

10 to 15 minute job to change the pump, remember and get new hose clamps

As for where to buy the pump, well you pays your money and take your chances. I bought mine from LR as the original one lasted 124k miles so I don't think it should need changing again or a while

I did mine recently, I'd had lack of power at certain rev ranges, first thing in the morning and finished off with it not starting (until I Censored it!). So before it failed completely I replaced it, with genuine.

If any one is interested Euro car parts are selling the Pierburg pump for £109 + vat.

They also do a cheaper version for £72 + vat.

The only difference i could see was that the cheaper one has a plastic end and pipe. Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty,nothing else matters.
