impressed

hi guys, i have been meaning to post this for a while and have finally got round to it. i have been looking for a cheap solution to play the music from my ipod / iphone through the car stereo and stan found the following

http://www.maplin.co.uk/fm-transmitter-and...pod-517568

so i went and bought one, i have got to say it works really well and as my acr charger was on the way out i needed a new charger anyway. i live in sw london and the it come through very clearly even with the multitude of radio stations and for £20 i dont think that you can beat it.

cheers stan

Even better would be hard wire it in and get a dock extender to feed up the side of the handbrake gaitor Smile

Looks nifty but is sound quality that good as the normal antenna's are at the rear of the car and most cars have them within a metre or less of that transmitter Smile ??? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Agree on all counts except for the price
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FM-Transmitter-C...1c180af2f2
for £2.17 Shocked from Hong Kong

or
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FM-Transmitter-F...3a671d5a79
£4.95 + £1.75 shipping if you prefer a more local seller
Laughing

Pic is below - pretty sure it is the same unit. Works just fine and beats my €35 Belkin (sorta brand name) FM adapter by a country mile.
That said, for regular use in your own RR, a permanent install such as an intravee, grom, dice, or the LR ACM for the touch screen models is a huge step up in quality. You lose quite a bit of the frequency spectrum over FM. Its quite a step up in price too, tho, costing 50 to 100x what the Hong Kong FM modulator costs Shocked Shocked

i've always found the sound quality to be poor or not loud enough without becoming distorted when using a transmitter You can paypal direct using - www.paypal.me/duckworthparts

me too too!

This unit really does work, tho. I use it in rentals or in my older RRs. It really does work quite well. The only drawback is that on longer trips when you are traveling through different areas with different frequency zones you have to find a new 'empty' spot. More of a PITA in Europe than in the US because everything is smaller... Laughing
