24" alloys will create a dreadful on road experience, clearly they're not going to go off road..

That Overfinch, just, WHY?

Why would you change a stunning Stornoway Grey Overfinch and make it look cheap and white? What a total waste of money. Discovery 4 HSE

How much is a wrap and does it result in a paint like gloss finish or is it a Matt effect?

(Just interested)

We do wraps for specific contracted companies for advertising purposes on Vans, Lorries and Buses amongst many other media formats (I do not want to breach site rules - so I am not posting my firms details)

MATT and CHROME finish wraps (and also CARBON FIBRE effect wraps) are becoming more and more popular amongst private individuals and therefore more and more firms are springing up offering this service.

Be careful though...

For a professional application with the correct materials and qualifications required you will be paying around £2500 inc materials on an average size car (with material costing approx. £70 per metre Sq) For this price you would expect the vinyl to be guaranteed between 3 - 5 years. Different films have different life spans and can be said to protect bodywork

Thumbs Up

For a potential disaster job you would be quoted anything between £500 - £1000 - It may well look perfect immediately after application (or from a distance) but will have any number of problems from vinyl lifting as soon as sun shines on it, blade cuts directly on your bodywork to a real difficulty in removing the stuff without removing/damaging the paintwork also.

Evil or Very Mad

I have seen both finishes applied to £150,000+ Ferraris recently and have mixed feelings as to whether its worth doing or not.

Of the quality vinyl films available I do not believe that they come supplied wider than 1.2metres so on Range Rover bonnets the vinyl would need to be spliced - would you want someone to take a scalpel blade to the bodywork of your car ?

That said I have also seen a Discovery3 in Matt Olive Green which had been installed for an advert recently and that really looked good.

I'd be interested to see a picture of that - I've seen a NATO green-wrapped L322 in Mayfair which, although I'd never do it, looked OK.

I've never noticed any vinyl joins on the numerous wrapped Sports driving around - is matte black available in wider rolls?

At £2.5k you're encroaching into decent re-spray territory, so it may be that wrapping remains the preserve of those wanting the latest footballer novelty finish rather than a true colour change.

I actually liked both Cars and with Genuine Overfinch body kits and with that spec they looked reasonable value for 57plate TDV8s in this market Thumbs Up

One of them had a great plate if you are a certain chap from Bradford! K44AHN
