New service plans...

Hi,
Just happened to pop in to local service centre (Harwoods Chichester) and the chap there mentioned that yesterday was a launch of a new service plan that will cover even second hand cars.
Deal is that if the car has just been serviced, you pay a monthly fee and that will cover all future servicing.
The monthly fee is calculated using planned length of ownership, mileage, etc and will cover Oil/InspI/II and discs/pads. For extra money they would cover tyres as well.
He seemed to think £600 should cover a years maint on a TDV8.
He has no firm details as yet but he should be able to do a quote in a few days.
Thought this may interest some...
Kind regards,
ED

Good idea I think.........but I get my services for insp.1 £150 or insp.2 £280 and discs and pads for £90 at the local LR Indy.....

£600 is like paying Stealer service costs IMHO. Crying or Very sad

very expensive , a full service for me is about £150 ish and thats doing more than L/R would anyway, as for tyres you probably buy a set every 3 years or something like that so technically they would get about £1800+ of you in 3 years so they are the only winners but it gives a customer peace of mind Thumbs Up onto no6 Range Rover

The chap behind the desk printed out a list of costs for the servicing. Oil is £337 and Insp I and II both cost £437 - very odd and I quieried it twice, particularly since the list of work in insp I and II were identical.
I was hoping to perhaps pay somewhat less at somewhere such as Yeovil or the lakes and spend the saving on a two night break!
This is a main dealer but the hourly rate is fantastic - £168 labour for an oil change - I guess the money to pay for the smart showroom, etc has to come from somewhere.
There is a recommended indy in Chichester but someone with a L322 said they could not cope with the level of diagnostics on the MkIII so reverted to the main dealer.
Kind regards,
Ed
