United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

A mate of mine bought the unit originally from a chap with an X5. My mate fitted it in an E39 M5 and then he got a 2003 RR and had the splash screen changed to Range Rover, which I think RichardP may have helped him with. I then bought it off him when he sold his Rangie, so as it already had the RR splashscreen, I kept it as is.

I believe its got standard V32 firmware on it. I have 5 digit postcode entry and perspective view etc, but no speed camera POI etc, so I think its standard.

Matt has only changed the splash screen I think. Could be wrong - will check his site again.

This wouldn't change things like whats on the menu should it ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The map disc won't change what's on the main menu, but the Nav Software can be modified to change any displayed text.

In NavCoder, about half way down the Nav Code dialog, under 'Other Settings' is an option which says "Show Arrival Time" then "Only up to production pause 09/03 for E39,E53" . If this setting is 'wrong' for your car then you don;t get the arrival time. So, if you now have the current time and date set in the Nav, change this setting from whatever it is. I suspect it will be checked, which I think is wrong for a Range Rover.

I believe it is checked...........

Do you have to turn the car off and on to get the settings to take effect on the nav screen, or will it do it "real time" as you are making changes ?

Some settings require the Nav to restart, others can be changed on the fly, I think the Arrival Time is the latter, but I'm not 100% sure.

Right, connected the car up this afternoon, unchecked the tick box for the "show arrival time......", I had already coded it to L30 Range Rover, but it was still set as Limousine, changed that to SUV......and now I have arrival time displayed correctly on the nav. Though it was obviously the check box that did it.

Many thanks gents.

I also coded up the ULF to have L322 and 5 digits of my VIN, and removed 112 as the emergency dial number, and funilly enough, BMW ASSIST no longer appears on my menu screen.

Result !!

But when I drove it, there was no sound from the speakers..........zilch. Everything acted as normal, mode, cd, selecting different CD's, just no sound. The hi-fi turned on and off etc all as normal. just no sound.

Went shopping, came back, started car up and all working again, so it looks like the thing can get its knickers in a twist if you are not careful.

Can't see any reason to change the settings now, unless something goes awry.......

I don't think it can. Navcoder is more of a configuration thing for BMW's than for Land Rover products, so I'd imagine that it won't be added to IID Tool functionality as the Mk4 was never fitted to a Range Rover officially.

To buy the Navcoder software and the lead I think it comes to about £40 something, and I've used it a few times, can code the light modules and radio etc. Don't think its silly money......have a look at the web site.

I got this lead for use with it......

I've a feeling I got navcoder from their own site and registered for full functionality.

The lead comes with software but I didn't use any.

If you look on the navcoder site you can see the screens of what's available ;

"View the ibus data in real time and in plain text! 90% of all ibus messages can be displayed in English.

Scan the ibus and retrieve information on every connected device

Scan and retrieve service information, showing vehicle kms and last service data

Code the Light Control Module and switch off light bulb warning messages (great if you are fitting LED lights) as well as code Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)

Code the Navigation computer (Mk2, Mk3 or Mk4) and set any setting you like. You can load languages, change from Mono to Colour nav or vice versa, adjust split screen mode, and change regional settings. Everything!

Code the TV and enable TV-in-Motion, change backup camera from NTSC to PAL and more

Code the ULF and TCU Bluetooth Telephone modules, enable voice recognition, and adjust speed dependent volume

Sync the car clock to your laptop clock to the second

Test the PDC, showing each sensor working in real time, with distance to obstruction

Save and read ibus log files to help in analysing the ibus data flow through the vehicle. Handy for fault finding
And lots more... " 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
