Apparently there will be no top gear christmas special this year . They are filming a special but it wont be aired until February. Also the new series will only be 6 episodes long instead of 8

Maybe this is the end for top gear?

I think thats the problem Stan, the presenters have got too many other projects on and have forgot what it was that made them popular in the first place
I agree though that the program has lost its appeal, after all it IS supposed to be a motoring program but nowadays they seem to go for cheap laughs and staged stunts instead. The comedy aspect of it is what made it popular but now its a shadow of its former self
I still think the best ever feature they have done was the Ayrton Senna feature, no messing , no playing up to the cameras just a well written and presented feature

I watched the episodes of Top Gear USA that were shown on BBC3, and thought they were quite good.

Top Gear is no longer any use if you want to know whether one car is better than another. Like you say, its more entertainment now, but I think the viewing figures are up because of it...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
