New Vortex Filter

After reading about the filter for the turbo and the damage that can be caused by not changing it I decided to renew mine as a matter of course. Upon removal the old filter was a black sticky mess and there is no way it was doing what it was supposed to ! I purcheased the latest one from BMW Parts Online and with next day delivery it came to £48.11 - a lot cheaper than a new Turbo Shocked
The allen key bolts in the new unit are the same as the old one and therefore do not need changing over - and all new askets are supplied in the kit.
It is Genuine BMW and the part number is :-312 02 500 01 11 Breather Valve
Printed on the parts box :- 11 12 7 799 224
Vehicle definately feels more 'drivable' and a bit more responsive ! Next on the list is theremoval and clean of the EGR valve with a view of fitting a blanking kit - undecided until I research the feedback a bit more Wink
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all members andI hope your vehicle like mine will not suffer any breakdowns this year Rolling with laughter

Done both on mine and now averages around 500 on a tank, before I was getting 450.
(mind you, I did have a binding rear brake caliper, so not all the extra MPG will be due to mods) Smile

Changed my breather filter for the vortex type too last week, along with a new air filter and she seems to rev a little easier now Smile

Got an EGR blank to fit still, as darkness setting in prevented it going on last week. also weighing up having a remap, either JE or simon at e-maps (popular over on BMW boards on the M57 engine)

at 100k but she had a new box 4k miles ago so that shouldnt be an issue....... Whistle

If you get a remap done dont forget to get the gearbox one done as well as that can make just as much difference from reports on here Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

There is a thread on here about it, simply an ECU swap, but the original site on the web is all in German, so to be fair, I'd like to know more about it myself before I investigate further...
