As I say I don't know how they work just guessing here

Posts: 8455 | IME if someone hits you or is at fault its best to tell your insurance co of the accident but claim from the 3rd party. Process is a lot simpler all in, and avoids you paying any ncb on either side and your legally entitled to be put back in the position you were before the accident be that repair or replacement of equal nature.

I've seen them happen on our neighbours farm where the farmers son hit the cab on a 2 week old tractor with the loader on another tractor as he didn't expect the tractor to be where it was.

The bloke that spoke to me reckons they can pull back and straighten the pillar and push up the roof and it should be ok

If possible try and speak to someone higher up the chain. The monetary 'value' should not affect the possible physical issues which may appear after they have repaired it (as an example mine was a re-chassis of a Ford Explorer back in 1998, no-one had done in the UK before, on first delivery of many the interior cubbies would't latch, the windscreen did not fit properly (I kid you not) and everyhting just seemed .... off) Land Rover Addict
