Wow, I think I now have a BIG issue. The battery went down during the night to the point where I can't now open the doors with the remote control. Here comes the BIG issue, the car is locked and the driver's door got a problem yesterday that predvents me from opening it mechanically from the outside.

If you remove the belly pan under the engine, the alternator plug is accessable. So surely you could charge the battery through thy plug. You would just need to identify the pin out of the plug to locate 12v and ground. MY2010 TDV8 Vogue Ipanema Sand

You can either connect a spare battery or battery charger to a white tow socket as above, or you can connect a spare battery or battery charger by connecting to the red cable starter connection and an earth point on the car. You need to lie under the car to do this.

I had an RAC jump start our Motorhome by Negative to chassis & Positive direct to the Starter Motor. Not sure if this can be done on a RR. |

You will need to charge the battery from now until tomorrow morning to get a reasonable charge into the battery, particularly as current is draining away at the same time. Be patient. |

My driver's door lock wasn't working with the key in the barrel and I was worried about the very same thing; battery going flat and how I would get in. I'm glad you solved it.

Security? Nah - Cost cutting. It's much much cheaper to put a blanking plate than it is a lock..... |
