Scotland 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Epsom Green
Air Suspension ECU

My ongoing investigation into my "Air Susp Inactive" error took a bad turn.

Using a friends AutoBoss computer I found out that my brand new Front Right
Height Sensor wasn't outputting any data to the Suspension ECU. Plugged in
the old sensor and that too wasn't outputting any data. You can see the other
3 sensor outputs which change when you rock the car but "0" from the front right.

Decided to unplug the ECU and check for loose pins. Started with the main power
plug, removed, checked and refitted.

Checked for any change and now I have a ECU error and can't get it reset. I can
clear the error but it just comes straight back. I now have no suspension lights and
I'm stuck with the front being lower than the back.

Anyone have any ideas? did I break the Ecu by unplugging???? surely not! 2002 Vogue Epsom Green with Ivory Leather.

You should NEVER unplug anything from the FFRR whilst the battery is still connected to the car. Not sure if you have done damage or not, maybe others who may have gone down this route will be able to advise

i had a range rover in a month or so ago with the same problem as you got, it was the as you was thinking the multi plugs on the ecu. the loom is fairly taught and pulls on the plugs which opens the terminals inside over time, you can open the multi plug and give all the terminals a gentle squeeze so they make contact on the pins in the ecu again, give it a nice spray with electrical contact cleaner after to clean any muck off then plug it all back in and test it again. hopefully you will have sorted the problem, if not open the loom on that particular height sensor and check it for damage. they do do a repair section of loom with a new plug for the height sensors if you find a problem that end as they do give problems. happy hunting.
