I had my road tax reminder a couple of weeks ago and it said 12 months duty was £190 (for the Golf). I just logged onto their site to pay and its now £205 as of the 1st April. The reminder came this month, not March so why didn't they show the new rates?

You havent paid yet have you?? Maybe if you take the reminder into the post office, they will charge you the rate stated on the form.............

Yes, but you can always pop-in to Luxembourg for 'Gazole' at £0.85 per litre.

if you call driving 2 hours popping then i guess youre right, diesel costs 1.10euros right now, when we register a new or second hand car in belgium we have to pay registration tax depending on the enginesize and horsepower plus the annual tax, but whats even better is that if the same car is sold onto someone else they have to pay registration tax aswell so if the car is sold 3 or 4 times in its life it would have paid more than 5 or 6000 euros, crazy country this is, i wouldnt mind if that money went to repairing the roads, but here theyre even worse than in poland 2002 td6 vogue, 06 supercharged facelift

In Ireland is €1200 for a td6. I think a TDV8 is €1600.
