Bluetooth, digital TV and i-pod connectivity

After all the usefull feedback, I have been searching for an early TDV8 with good history and condition. I am currently looking at a very nice 56 plate at a main dealer (like the idea of the Land Rover 12 month warranty).

I have a current Blackberry phone - will a FF of this age have difficulty connecting to it?? Are there any upgrades??

On the TV, when did they start putting the digital tuner in?? If it doesn't have one and is analogue (I need to ask tomorrow), can it be upgraded to digital, is it easy, and how expensive is it??

Last but not least - I presume it will just be an "aux in" for the i-pod as standard - can this be upgraded to a more modern interface - if so how easy/expensive??

Thanks very much, any feedback welcome!

I would check they are offering 12 months warranty, I only got 6 months F.O.C.

If you do have any connection issues, the Bluetooth module firmware can be upgraded, User : Wiggs can help you out with this.

You may be lucky on this one, mine is a 2007 and has the hybrid tuner.

If you look below the rear seat air vents ( rear of the centre cubby box) the Aux in jack is there if the car has one.
I bought an Genuine LR iPod kit off an auction site for about £250 and fitted it myself. Gives you control from touchscreen and steering wheel plus amazing sound quality and charging of your I-device. It will also work with latest lightning connector if you use the Apple 30pin - lightning adapter.

Thanks very much, any feedback welcome!

Hope this helps.

Apologies, I tried to change the font colour of my answers but it doesn't seem to have worked.
I have tried to answer each question individually using the quote function...
Didn't work as I'd hoped!

Thanks for the feedback - I am amazed how strong this 'community' is - its gives me the confidence to go for a car option which I would otherwise have been nervous of.

I will check whether it has the digital tuner and will contact Wigg if I go ahead.

Thanks.

PS welcome to the forum.

Great place for advice here, some very knowledgeable and friendly members.
I joined the forum whilst searching for my perfect FF.

I wish I could hand on heart say go and view / drive a few different examples, but I'll be honest with you I left a deposit on the first one I viewed and the only one I'd ever driven.

I did know exactly what I was looking for: model spec, colour, extras, etc.

I bought confidently from my local main dealer -Stratstone at Stockton. I can recommend them from sales right through to servicing. Nothing appears to be too much trouble. I bought top of my budget and felt like I was treated as if I'd bought a brand new one, for three times the cost. (I am not in any way affiliated with them or have any connection in the motor trade) Just a satisfied customer making a personal recommendation of a dealership that is possibly within your search radius. Thumbs Up
