Parking sensor conundrum

Hi guys,

I hope someone can help with this rather strange problem I'm encountering. Sometimes I place my vehicle into reverse and the parking aid comes on as it should and works perfectly. But increasingly more common, I place it into reverse and I get a constant warning beep, as if there is a fault on the system. I took it to the main stealer a little while ago, and they assured me it was water ingress between the sensors ( quite common he said) but its been doing this after three, four, five days of no rain. If it was just a constant fault, I think it would be less annoying Censored , but the fact it's a 50/50 if it will do it is very strange.

Any ideas?

Mine also does this occasionally, as well as beeping when there's nothing behind or in front of me.
I put it down to corrosion on the sensors as the paint has come off and there is what looks like alloy corrosion on there.
Something I'll get around too in the future, mostly I just ignor them at the moment.

It is very common and my rear sensors do it all the time, sometimes working and other times continuous beep for no reason. It is probably the pdc connections or a break in the wiring, but I need to remove the bumper to get to it all. I will wait for summer. Tom

Seen this many times like the other guys say corrosion of the bumper wiring loom.
UK dealers only charge £20.00 for this item that tells the whole story when have LR been so reasonable.
The actual cable corrodes from the inside out I think the insulation fails.

dodgy/broken wiring. Normally happens a coupla cm from the plug in to the sensor itself, where it has to bend.

If you put your ign on then select parking sensors, get out and put your ear next to each sensor and the working ones will tick quickly... I would start with tracing the wiring from the duff one/ones...

Craig Thumbs Up
