Wooden wheel?

Anyone who has a steering wheel with the wooden parts answer me a question?

I currently have a heated, grained leather steering wheel in my FF.

I was looking to replace it with a 2010 > smooth napa leather one.
(Had a 12MY FL 2 HSE as a loan car with this type of wheel and found it felt much nicer / more tactile)

I have recently seen quite a few 2010> steering wheels for sale with smooth napa leather and Piano Black wooden inserts, which look great.

My question is, does the heating element only run through the leather portion of the wheel or like mine throughout the whole of the wheel.
It may seem un-important and to be fair i thought it was a bit of a gimmick at first, but now I've had a heated wheel, i wouldn't want to be without.

Thanks in advance.

Heating only works on the leather part... Also, we have a few that find their hands slip on the painted part of the wheels... Not my opinion but is worth considering...

Craig Thumbs Up

Thanks Craig, that makes my decision easy.
May also explain why there are quite a few 'new take-off' items on the 'bay of e'.
Hope Dan gets another batch of the napa ones soon!

While your listening Craig, could you tell me if I wanted to do a 2010 facelift on my 2007, can I retain the adaptive lighting system? I appreciate I would need to source the correct headlight units, but will the system work after they are re-wired, thanks. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the advice, even though its not what I wanted to hear.
Guess I'll just start saving up for a 2010 model then Rolling Eyes
