Viewed a car at Sturgess Leicester

Popped into my local dealer in Leicester (Sturgess) as they had a 2010 TDV8 VSE in Stornoway with Jet interior and morzine headlining, sounded perfect.

Got there and the salesman (Who I did not click with at all) told me the car had not yet been prepped as it had only just come in. Weird how I saw it online a week ago at least. He made a point of saying many times that they would prep the car but that it would not look like a brand new car. DUH - of course not, but it should look bloody amazing in my view!

Anyway, the spec was right but it was a bit tatty for its age and it'd only done 38K. The back seats were a mess, the door sills were so scuffed they were past the primer, and there was various seat belt-trapped-in-closing-door scratches. (I've never understood how this happens as they self retract.)

The parcel shelf edges were frayed and the worst thing was the top tailgate glass rubbers, they looked like they had corroded underneath, were coming away from the glass down the sides and with a white powder emanating from the rubbers, which were seriously peeling off. Never seen that before.

I told him I thought for its age it was tatty and mine, even though its 5.5yrs old is in better condition.

So that was that, however, they are also a Jag dealer and I got to see 3 brand new F Types, and got to sit in one - despite the fact they were not supposed to even be on show yet!

I found them in the back yard where the guys were prepping them, they were SO friendly and made me get in the car and wanted to show me what was what, they clearly were enthused, it's a shame the sales guys are not the same.

Won't be rushing back to buy one from that guy that's for sure. Discovery 4 HSE

Shame it wasn't tidy, it sounded very nice; there will be the right one along soon. You will love the 4.4 engine.

This has started to occur on my MY11, only noticed it a couple of weeks ago, it's as if there is some metallic reaction going on under the rubber. Neutral Current MY2020

It was a 3.6 not a 4.4.

TBH I would be very happy with a 3.6 once JE have seen to it again! Discovery 4 HSE
