Does anyone know if my 2002 car can be programmed at the dealer to firstly automatically lock on driving off and secondly make the indicators blink 3 times like modern ones.

I read on here that it isn't possible but after chatting to my dealer yesterday he said it was.

Can someone please clarify...

I know that with the IID tool you can activate the auto lock feature when you drive off, I have done it on mine.

As to the 3 flash indicator, that is dependent on the Light Control Module and is only available on the new models 2009 onwards I think. The older LCMs do not have the feature so cannot be activated. Tom

Speed sensitive locking is certainly an option on the IID tool, my 02 FFRR was programmed for this anyway.
As for number of flashes, I'm not sure. I altered mine to beep on locking so I know I've hit the remote button, again an option you can program with the IID.

Both are programmable but the three flash indicators will probably need a software update at least to make them work... If not a replacement LCM...

You can program locking on speed relock and 3 blink indicator and mirror fold with intravee

I'm upgrading the rear lights to LEDs soon so would that require the module or doesn't that have anything to do with it?

Also when I have my remap done wonder if they could alter or update the software for the indicators then?

As his is an 05 car, surely the Intravee wont work

i was looking at "flashmans" info by accident!

I belive that a intravee would work to alter settings in the ecus as I think that the ibus is still in the later cars the difference was down to how the infotainment systems comunicate ie most i have used later ecus in my car and they worked

So would a dealer or man with an IID be able to do this or would I need a new ECU?

I have a VIN free iid and i can programme your car to lock whilst driving away but i could not get your 3 flash to work... It would need a software flash first...

I presume Intravee will not work on 2004 BMW engines Touch Screen cars?
