sorry ...another TV question.

ok... dumb question alert....

I've read most of the threads on the various TV's in the FFRR and I'm still confused....sorry. Rolling Eyes

How do you tell what version you have in your car ? ie how do I easily tell if it is analogue / hybrid / digital etc etc.

Here's my confusion.
When I switch to TV mode, if I press auto then when it scans - sometimes it finds channels and some times not. When it doesnt find channels I see a screen full of static as if you would on an old analogue tv that wasnt tuned in. Others times the scan will pick up a list of channels and their names but reception is poor and the picture freezes / becomes blocky as per a weak digital signal. In fact parked on my own drive I get no channels at all yet half a mile down the road I get about 30 !! (poor quality though)

Analogue was switched off in my area last year so I'm inclined to believe I have a digital (or least a hybrid) but the screen of static (and the manual channels up to 59?) is really making me think analogue....household digital TV's normally show a black screen if no signal (or a warning message of some kind) - I would assume a digital system in the RR would do something similar ?

Cheers

Sounds like a hybrid

Analogue will give you the white noise / static screen, digital will give you all or nothing or blocky pixelated squawks.

You need to be stationary in a good area for reception - like next to the transmitter to get a decent picture with digital !! .

Yep, definitely digital receiver and probably hybrid as suggested. My reception breaks up on the move in built up areas but is slightly better on the motorways. I can sit in traffic around Sale / Altrincham / Knutsford and get a good picture though and have a fair few channels available to watch. Steve

To be honest - bit disappointed with the poor implementation of the TV. The poor reception makes it about as useless as a chocolate fireguard unless you never driver further than 3 inches from the local transmitter. Sad

As above, although aftermarket tints have been known to affect it a lot. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
