Tempting Fate - Avoiding LR Workshops ?

So how long have you managed to stay away from an LR Dealer / LR Indie / Workshop (including servicing)?

I just had a look back to find it is 640 days and counting for me, last visit to fix gear lever cable in 2011. .

Ha!

Five days, just had the girl in for an Inspection service and got the anti-roll bar drop links replaced. No more clunking tho'!!

On the plus side, she's done 15,000 miles since I got her in October and they've been the best miles Ive ever driven!!

AND breakdown free...

OOPPS!!! Done it now

Hmmm, dropped it off this morning... Still needed to get the condenser fan replaced. They got a replacement which worked on a test vehicle but for some reason not on my FF so had to leave it at the shop while they try to figure it out... Not happy... Sad Mike.

Never. Mainly because I'm Dutch. Paying 5000 Euro, just to register that car with the dealer is a bit too much for my liking. So I do the diagnostic work and some of the work on the car and our mechanics do the "tough" work under my guidance / supervision. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Only time mine has been anywhere was when the trannie crapped itself. Apart from that, I do everything myself, from servicing, brakes, suspension, engine, etc.

I have always swung my own spanners - there's no one else to blame that way... Laughing

Apart from the one in the mirror Smile

There are very very few really good mechanics IMHO. The ones that first try hard to find out that the problem is before touching the spanners. Guess it is hard to sit down and think when your boss just wants you to do stuff and charge the client Sad MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I've put over 110,000 miles on my 2000 RR; it's NEVER been to a shop.
We've put about 60,000 miles on the 2005 RR; it's NEVER been to a shop, either.
That includes indy shops, too.
At worst, they'll goto an indy shop for something I can't fix.
They'll never go to a dealer. Jim

None of my RRs have ever been to shops either, so that makes roughly 17 years. Whistle
