Sorry chaps - have to disagree...

Have tested as per the owners manual below and it works as written. Looks like 2010MY onwards they changed it around. So if you have a later model and only press once ...you are not fully arming / locking your car.

but that doesnt tell you the action to single or double lock...what i mean is do you press the fob once to get double lock and press the fob twice to get single lock..(hope that makes sense) ... - .- -.

Single lock is one push of the button
Double lock is two pushes.

strange I know - but it honestly is right. (at least on my car !!! )

strange that..i'm sure mine [05 td6] was one press for full lock and two presses for partial lock [for ferrys etc] ... - .- -.

I can confirm this is correct - facelift 2010 - 2012 onwards is the opposite to 2006 vehicles. You have to hit the button twice to deadlock with 2010 / 12 and activate internal sensors 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

if you lock somebody inside with 1 click, they can still get out, (e.g. children when your out shopping) you would then have to deliberately press it twice to totally deadlock the vehicle and prevent the doors from being opened from the inside. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

having just tried to leave my new dog in the car whilst I popped into the butchers and suddenly realising I had no idea how to turn off the internal alarms ... I'm glad I found this thread

Mine is a 2010 model so looks like a single button press is all I need . Quite pleased about that as it makes like easy

Contrary to pretty much every other alarm remote and car on the face of the planet. Pressing the lock button on the key fob ONCE only partially protects the car. ie NO internal sensors and NO interior deadlock.

To FULLY lock the car (assuming no kids/dogs in) you have to press the key fob TWICE. This deadlocks AND arms the interior sensors.

So, like most people I suspect, I had been leaving my car only partially protected by pressing the fob once when it should be twice (contrary to earlier models (and most other cars!!))
